Just some happenings around our house so far this summer!

Last week, the boys kept asking me to take them to the park. We didn't stay long, it was already way too hot and the equipment was a scorcher. I did, however, catch a few shots of the boys during our 20 minute stay.

Carson trying to catch the football off the diving board. He has actually caught it a few times!

Here is Carson and Kylie Rutledge. She is one my best friends from college, Traci, daughter. They have been over a few times to swim this summer and I am loving catching up with her and spending time with her two sweet, adorable children. They are such wonderful children to have around. Carson and Kylie are warming up to eachother and it has been fun to watch them grow in their friendship.

Finally, here are a couple of Carson's new skills this summer - flipping on the trampoline and jumping off the diving board and swimming in the deep end with no life jacket!

Baseball Party

Carson had his last baseball game on Thursday night and since our team was sponsored by Eureka Pizza, we had to have a pizza party! We met before the game at the park pavilion and the boys received their trophies. They all made so much progress in this short season, I am amazed that 6 year old boys can change so quickly. Carson really had a great team and had a good time. Now we play in a tournament this week and our game is on Wednesday. Maybe we'll win...but if not, we just hope we have fun!

Here is Carson's team, Carson is way down on the right said shoving a bite of pizza in his mouth.

Saturday Fun

On Saturday, Greg, Jaren and Ellie came over for the day and we had so much fun. We swam a lot and played some Wii Rockband - which is so addicting by the way. Here are Greg and Wade reliving their childhood with a lengthy water gun fight. It was intense, let me tell ya.

Of course Carson loved it and got in on the action immediately.

Ellie Jane getting lathered up with sun block. Doesn't she look so cute in her suit? I love it.

Cal and Ellie on the trampoline. Callahan is in love with it and Ellie seemed to have fun with him for a little while on there too!

Wanna good laugh?

If you wanna laugh your fandookie off, read my brother's blog post on their site at http://scottsrus.blogspot.com (their link is on my blog list to the right under Matt and Andrea Scott).

I promise you will smile!

Playin' ball and lovin' it

Carson is a few games shy of finishing baseball for this year. He seems to really like it this year and looks forward to his games. It's been neat seeing how much he has learned and grown in just one year. We have really enjoyed watching him out their on the field. Here is a picture of Carson playing catcher.

Last year was t-ball and this year is coach pitch. In case you don't know, the coach pitches 3 balls and then they get to hit off the tee if they didn't hit any of the pitches. A year ago I couldn't fathom Carson actually hitting a ball pitched to him. What a difference a year makes! Granted, he does have to hit off the T sometimes, but I can't believe how much he has changed and how he can actually hit a ball pitched!

Wade's parents and brother and sister-in-law were in town last weekend and came to Carson's game. Here is Ellie trying on Nana's sunglasses!

Callahan started hiding behind the light pole and playing peek-a-boo with us. I love this picture because he really doesn't think that we can see him!

Then Ellie joined in on the fun and imitated Cal. They were pretty cute.

Carson's Last Day of Kindergarten

Carson had his last day of Kindergarten on Thursday. He had such a great year, we couldn't have asked for anything more. It was even better than I expected. He learned so much and really loved it more than I thought he would! God took care of him, just as I asked. I can't believe how fast it went by, it really seems like last week I was taking him for his first day. Time really is a vapor, isn't it? Here are a couple of pictures from the first day of kindergarten...

Here is Carson on his last day of kindergarten. He really grew this year, in more ways than just physically!

Carson's Kindergarten Award

Carson had his awards ceremony in class on Friday for kindergarten. I still can't believe the end of the year is here! Wah! Anyhoo...we were really proud of him because he received the "Creative Writing Award." Carson loves to write and his teacher has told me that he is her top writer. Here are some pictures from the morning.

This is Carson with Mrs. Wallace, the classroom aide. She is wonderful and tells me Carson is her buddy. She always is quick to give me a hug when we see each other and tell me how much she enjoys having Carson. We love her and will miss her next year!

Here is Carson with his teacher, Mrs. Ellis. She is so sweet and gentle with the children. Carson has never had anything negative to say about Mrs. Ellis (or Mrs. Wallace for that matter) all year. She really is an excellent teacher. She was definitely an answer to our prayers for kindergarten and has made this year such a blessed experience. Carson's teacher for next year has big shoes to fill is all I can say! We will really miss her..she and Mrs. Wallace have taught together for a very long time and are an awesome team.

This is Carson with Haley, from his class. She asked to take a picture with Carson...I think maybe she has a crush on him! : )Just kidding.

This is Carson with TyAnna...She too asked to take a picture with Carson and I am cracking up at her facial expression!

Here is one of Carson's good friends in class, Isaiah. He and Carson played flag football together in the fall and play a lot together (apparently) on the playground at recess. I think they both love sports so they hit if off well.
