Are you ready for some football?

Carson got his helmtet and shoulder pads last Friday night for football this year and he was so excited.  He had his first practice on Monday night.  He loved it!  Below is a picture of him after practice.  I was glad to see that he came home all in one piece with all teeth still in place!Last weekend, Greg and Jaren and the girls came for the day to swim.  We couldn't get Cal to get in the picture - he is anti-camera lately.  I don't know what the deal is!Here are Olivia and Crosby.  I took two pictures - this one has him looking good into the camera and the next one has Olivia looking into the camera.  Crosby is 12 weeks today and is just a joy to have in our family.  He is getting easier and easier and loves people.  He loves for us to talk to him and he coos/goos back to us.  He truly is a happy baby!

2nd Grade already??? Seriously??

Carson started 2nd grade today!  I am now the mother of a second-grader!!  What??  How is that possible?  Here is Carson in front of his classroom door the other night at open house.  His teacher is Mrs. Brown and I think he is going to really like her.  We heard great things about her, so we are happy about that.

Carson was ready to start today.  He is more excited about tackle football practice starting in a few days though!  Stay tuned for that...and pray for no broken bones!! Yikes!

Pictures Lately

Callahan is such a fish this summer!  He loves to swim and could swim all day long!  I took this picture yesterday (8/16/10) of Carson and Crosby just before Crosby went to Ms. Judy's for the first time.This is Callahan's typical summer outfit this summer.  Yesterday, after Crosby got home from Ms. Judy's.  He had a great day!Mimi came for a visit for a few days last week.  I didn't do a good job of taking pictures when she was here, but I did manage to snap a few before she left.  This is how Crosby felt about Mimi leaving - he wasn't too happy about it!Crosby has found his hands this past week!  He will often be found sucking on his fist.Crosby is 2 months and 2 weeks now (officially 11 weeks today)!  He went to the doctor last week and is 14 1/2 pounds now.  He is in the 75th percentile for weight and 40th for height.  He is plumping up!

Crosby turned 2 months old on Monday.  He is getting easier and easier it seems.  Here are some things I want to remember about this time, so it maybe boring for you, but I want to journal it.  So don't read if you are bored, you can just look at the pics! 

-Crosby's wake time is about 1 1/2 hours right now, which includes eating.  He usually eats, stays a wake a little while, then goes back to sleep.

-He eats about every 3 hours during the day, sometimes in the evening it's closer to 2, but just depends.

-He takes a morning nap, mid morning-early afternoon nap, late afternoon nap, and then an evening nap

-He gets up once during night to eat.  Usually around 3:30 a.m.  He then goes back to sleep usually until around 7-8 a.m.  He goes to bed at night between 10 and 11 p.m.

-He really likes his pacifier and to be swaddled.  When he gets sleepy, we swaddle him and then put the passy in his mouth and he usually fades right off. 

-We're still dealing with a little bit of gas, but he has gotten better with this

-He still spits up a lot, but that has gotten better.  It doesn't bother him though - he never cries with it.

-He is smiling all the time.  Especially after he eats.  He is really making a lot of cooing noises and loves for us to talk to him

-He weighs around 14 lbs. now - atleast when we weigh him at home.  He goes to the doc next week and we'll find out for sure.  He's starting to get dimples on his knees and elbows...so cute (wish mine were!)

-He now wears size 2 diapers and has been for about a month......oh, and he has a dirty diaper EVERY diaper change!!
