Cabin Fever

okay, this is the last of the ice pictures I promise, but these are some that we took last night when we got out after being cooped up for almost 3 days. It was truly a sight to see with all the ice and devastation to our trees and power lines. The pictures definitely don't do it justice. It was really pretty, truly a winter wonderland, but sad to see from the damage it caused.




Here is what cabin fever did to Carson - I opened his bedroom door and found this...

He had gotten every single one of his kindergarten papers out that I have saved and proudly lined them up and covered his entire bedroom floor! I'm a little worried...is this just cabin fever or OCD??

Today, we did art a lot this morning. Thought we needed a little more to add to Carson's room, don't ya think?

Even with a cold, Cal is happy as ever!

Ice Storm 2009

Here are day two pictures of the ice storm. We are counting our blessings that we actually are one of the lucky ones in the area with power. About 85-90% of Northwest Arkansas is without power and has been for at least a day and will probably be so for the next 2-3 days according to the latest news. Ours went out during the night last night for 4-5 hours, but came back on. We are so glad. Carson and Wade are out playing football in the snow that fell at the end of the storm last night. They asked if I wanted to come too....they should know me better than that! No, no, no....if I can't sled or ski in it, then I'll have no part in freezing my tail off in it.

Ice Ice Baby!

Well, we are home from school today, and although I love it...I do not like the ice. It was icy, then it started raining pretty heavy, and now it is sleeting....so there is more ice on top of the old. Here are some pictures I took earlier this morning...

This is a clip of one of Carson's shots last week...he was so proud after each one that went in as you will see. Oh, another thing...they don't call traveling at this age which we are very glad about - we're still learning!

Carson's First Basketball Practice and Game

Carson had his first basketball practice on Wednesday of last week. He loved it and was SO excited about it.






Here is Carson right before his first game on Saturday. He did so well and made 4 baskets! He also was very fast and stole the ball the most. Needless to say, we were very proud. I know I'm bragging, but hey...I'm his mom so I get to, right?

Carson's Bowling Birthday Party

Carson had his party today at the bowling lanes. We had a wonderful turn-out with 8 out of 9 kiddos in attendance that we invited. Carson got great gifts, had lots of fun, and was pretty tired when it was over. Here is the cake that came with his party package...

Okay, so after this we decided that we need to bowl more as a family! It's so fun, inexpensive, and a great family fun activity to do (especially when it's teen degrees in the winter and the boys can't go outside and run off their energy!). We had a great time, although Carson did let his competitive heart get the better of him midway through the party. Boys will be boys!
