Easter 2008

It was a chilly Easter here in Fayetteville, but a good time. Carson was so excited and went straight for his basket and the window on Easter morning to look for the eggs left behind by the Easter bunny! He hunted 100 eggs!!! We went a little overboard, but he was done in less than 10 minutes!! He says he wishes tomorrow was Halloween, and that he is ready for another holiday. I'm just ready for warmer weather! Next week is Kindergarten registration and I am not ready, but Carson is so excited about it because I told him that they don't take naps in kindergarten here. Now everyday he says that he is ready for kindergarten b/c of the "no nap thing." I am not ready to enter this next chapter, but I know it will all be fine. We are praying for a great teacher and a smooth transition. Callahan is growing and is very much a 17 month old. He wants everything he sees and could live outside I think. Anytime the door opens he runs for it, just hoping to go out and cries if he can't. He really doesn't do much when he goes out, but just loves it. He walks around with a permanent smile on his face while he is out there. Carson has always loved being outdoors too - so I imagine that we are going to be living outside as the temps start warming up. Carson starts t-ball this week, so that will be a lot of fun and we are looking forward to it.

tough man scar!

Well, this week has been eventful and so this post is a little overdue. Last Sunday, Carson was outside with his daddy while Wade was putting together a basketball goal. We really don't know what exactly happened, except that when Wade hit a bolt out of the goal, the backboard snapped and knocked Carson right in the forehead which knocked him to the ground and busted his forehead open! I was inside and heard this horrible scream and cry coming from Carson outside and so I ran to the garage door and when I opened it - it looked like a horror movie, literally. Carson's face was covered in blood and it was dripping all over his sweatshirt. Wade was proceeding to tell me what happened, but was almost in tears himself! I grabbed a washcloth and put it on Carson's forehead and we raced off to the ER. Thankfully, it wasn't deep enough to require stitches and the doctor could glue it. We were so glad and Carson was so brave at the hospital. So, after stopping for ice cream, you would think he would be worn out and just want to veg out on the couch and maybe watch a little t.v. right?? Well, kids are so resilient - after we got home and he ate, he was back outside riding his bike and shooting hoops with Wade like nothing ever happened!!

He actually looks really good here, I should've taken a picture of him with the enormous bandage on his head at the E.R. - he looked like a soldier!

Then on Tuesday, I took Cal to the dr. b/c he just wasn't himself. He had major runny nose all weekend, but no fever. He just wasn't eating well and was very fussy...so sure enough he had an ear infection. But this week is spring break and we are so glad and looking forward to just goofing off!!

Ellie Jane, guitars, and warmer weather!

Wade got a new guitar for Christmas and Carson got one for his birthday, so whenever Wade is playing around on his - then Carson can't help but tag along and join in!
Today is beautiful here and so we put Cal in the sandbox with Carson for the first time. He thinks that he is as big as Carson!

Carson, me and Ellie Jane - our 6 week old neice. They came for a visit and she looks exactly like my brother in law, it's pretty funny!
Wade, Carson, and Ellie Jane - Wade's hands looked enormous with her head in his palms!
Ellie Jane...aka...miniature girl version of Greg!
Carson was so sweet with her and kept saying she was so cute and sweet. It was really cute to see him with a girl and how gentle he was trying to be with her.
Callahan making a huge mess with his dinner - as usual!
Callahan in his car a few days ago when it was somewhat nice outside.
Callahan is walking great now - he is 16 months. He is really funny and waves at every stranger lately! Carson is doing great and is glad that some warmer temperatures came in the last couple of days - he's been out riding his bike, playing in the sandbox, and jumping on the trampoline. They are really having fun playing together lately and Carson loves to get Callahan to chase him around, and Callahan is young and innocent and always falls for it!
