Houston 2009

We went for a week at the end of July to the first of August to Houston to visit my parents. The boys and I flew, courtesy of my dad's frequent flyer miles, and Wade stayed back and worked. We had a great trip, as always, and it went way too fast! We were spoiled with lots of good meals, either cooked by my chef mom or taken out! Here is a picture of the boys on Friday night at Kingwood Catfish slurping up their big ole "kid's" drinks.

The boys before going out in their new tie shirts that they love. Pretty funny.

Here is my parent's next door neighbor, Sam. He is 9 and he and Carson played so good together. They have the same interests - sports, sports, and more sports! We love that they are my parents' neighbors for many reasons, but they have given Carson so many great clothes that Sam has outgrown, many with the tags still on! We brought home a small suitcase full this trip and Carson was SO excited about them. He LOVES clothes!

Don't they look like they could pass as brothers?! Sam actually has a twin sister and he told his mom that he would trade Becca (his sister) for Carson!

My parents have these monster glovey things that were my nephews at their house. The boys LOVED playing with these, especially Callahan.

This picture cracks me up with Cal's tongue sticking out. He does this a lot when he is playing or really concentrating on something.

Here are the boys one day when we went for a walk on the "trails." In Kingwood where my parents live, there are 75 miles of trails throughout the city, all tucked in a wooded forest that looks straight out of Robin Hood or something. It is so pretty and Carson said that was the most wonderful thing - all those trails and woods. He loved it!

We walked to one of the parks closest to my parents house on the trail behind their house. The boys loved it and they have the best neighborhood parks ever down there, complete with one of my favorites from my wonder years - the merry-go-round. But I have put up those glory days as now all that ride does is make my head feel like I just smashed it through a wall and my stomach want to hurl! Why is that??

Carson....looking all grown up!

Carson and Callahan played a ton in Mimi and Papa's game room. They had the floor pretty much covered in toys most days, so thank you mimi and papa for letting them take over in there!

My dad and I walked into his office one day and found Callahan just sitting at his desk hanging out. He looked like he was just going to take care of Papa that day and give him the day off!

The boys on our way to the pool one day. We went to the pool almost everyday. They have such great neighborhood pools in Kingwood and so the boys wanted to go pretty much every day. It was hot down there, so I was happy to go myself!

Our last night there, my mom had a great idea to order pizza at the pool and eat dinner there. Carson was so excited and loved that!

Here we are at the airport about to go through security and head on home.

Callahan wouldn't go get in the picture, he would rather help me take the picture. So here is just mimi and Carson.

The evening that I came home, we had a huge hail storm in Fayetteville. Thankfully, I was home when it happened and not flying! We had golf ball size hail in our yard and it was splashing in the pool like a popcorn popper. It was nuts! We have never seen hail that big so we had to take some pictures.

Thanks again Mimi and Papa for a great trip and visit! We loved every minute!!! It went by way too fast.

You did a great job of giving everyone a glimpse of our fun week, we had so much fun. Dad and I looked at pictures of all the boys last summer and then the ones from this summer and it is just amazing how much they have all grown. We love the blogs you girls do. And thanks for coming, we appreciate you taking a week of your time off to spend in HOT Houston with us!
