I Seriously Don't Even Know How To Title This

Do you remember this cute "spikey" hair?

Well, let's just say that these next few pictures should be a story about my 2 year old. Sadly, I regret to inform you that they are not. Indeed they are my 6 year old. Just see for yourself...

and this...

there's more...

no, we're still not done...

are you feeling my pain yet? Try this one...

Lovely, I know. It goes like this. Carson was making a valentine's day card in his bedroom while I was cooking dinner, holding Callahan, and talking on the phone. Wade was in the shower. I honestly thought that we bypassed that phase in childhood when all kids cut their bangs. I thought that Carson just breezed on through that part of development and Cal would probably be the one we'd have to watch for that. Oh, if we were only that lucky. UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carson has talked about wanting to be "bald" for a few months now. All of the male adults in his family (other than Wade) are bald (Pappy, Papa, Uncle Greg, and Uncle Matt). So he has been asking to cut his hair bald. So I guess since we wouldn't let him, he just thought he would take matters into his own hands. How nice. This is what we did to try and "fix" the hack job...

So he will be wearing a hat at any and ever opportunity possible until it grows. I'm sure that one day I will look back on this day and laugh, but right now all I can do is gasp in horror! Should be a fun few weeks to see the looks on strangers faces when they see my child's head. Wonderful.

Oh no! My boys have not done this yet (knock on wood) and I thought maybe we had bypassed it too...but this has made me nervous that there is still time for it to happen!

You did a great job even-ing it up. And the great thing about hair is that it grows quickly on little boys!

I really liked the longer hair on Carson but this cut makes his beautiful eyes stand out!!

I was thinking "not so bad" until you showed that side pic. OH MY!! I am laughing with you, my friend!!

That's sweet that he wants his hair like the other guys in the family. Too funny, Carson! Hopefully Cal won't decide he wants his hair like that too now. It'll grow back fast, and it will make for some fun laughs for the next couple of weeks until then.

I love your new banner. That is super cute! How did you put pictures up there? Am I a blogger amatuer???

Okay I was a hair dresser for 30 years plus I grew up in my mom's beauty shop, so lets say I have been in that world for about 45 or 50 years. People, mostly distressed moms, used to come in to the beauty shop with tearful, embarassed looks on their faces holding the hands of children, more girls than boys, who had proudly given themselves hair cuts, but I have NEVER, EVER seen a butcher job like this one!!! Way to go CARSON!! YOU are definitely the star of the show!!! Oh and you know it really is perfect because your mommy and I have gotten in SO much trouble with your dad for cutting your hair too short on many occasions, that this is just priceless. What is it they say about pay backs? And just maybe we should listen a little more to how Carson really wants to wear his hair from now on. If he says "Mimi, I want it bald, I'm getting out the clippers and the #1 guard, and I ain't gonna apologize for it!" Of course I may be getting a hotel but it will be worth it! Love you buddy! I bet all the guys at school want lightening bolt in their hair now!!
Love, Mimi

Michael Ann was the same age as Carson when she cut her long beautiful curly hair. Of course...Hutch was watching her. She did it in her bedroom too...sneaky kids:)

Just be happy he's not a girl and you don't have to wait too long for it to be all grown out. I'm so sorry for you, though. Hey, at least he's still cute, and it's a great story. You've got to have something to make him feel guilty about later in life!
